So I am in the process of splitting a getrag 260 and so far I got it to split about a 1/4 inch and now there seems to be something causing it to stick. so far I removed all of the rear bolts that hold the case together, I have taken out the reverse switch, the reverse gear shaft retaining bolt and the selector shaft pin.First, this does not apply to the 260 trans, only 265s. Like Tom says, there are 2 changes. First, there is a drive gear on the trans output shaft that is replaced by a spacer bushing on the M3 trans. Second, there is a hole in the trans rear case part that has a sheet metal plug, kind of like a freeze plug in a block, that has to be pried out.
